Bought new Bosch dishwasher from lowes.
Wife said was not cleaning as good as our 10 year old basic whirlpool dishwasher.
I expected it to clean better. I had replaced the soft drawn copper water line with a new stainless braided line with the new bosch.
Deceided to look under the unit and did notice I had a kink in the new line. Strightened it out and the wife said it cleans a lot better but still not as good as the old dishwasher.
Maybe should have stayed with whirpool brand instead of Bosch.

But this also makes me wonder about wife saying it cleaned better when I striaghtened out the kink. Is it getting enough water?
I thought it was on a float switch so if line was kinked it would just take longer to fill up. Are dishwashers on some sort of timer? Or maybe a timer for rinse cycle.
Trying to decide if I should just live with it or try to find a larger dishwasher water line.

Thanks for any suggestions

Rayh,

You're almost correct,

You have a redundant fill system.

The control(wether it be a control board/PCB or a timer, it has a built in time limit(usually 90 seconds)
The float switch operates(opens)and turns the valve off, if you have an adequate or more than adequate water supply.

On most models, if you experience at least a slight pause from the time the water stops running in, and the motor starts running you have an adequate water supply.

As for the water supply tube, you should check and make sure the ID(inside diameter) of the tube carrying the water is 3/8 of an inch, and you run it as staright and short as possible.

A proper water supply and level, is probably the most important component for a dishwasher to operate properly and clean efficiently.

The next most important is the water temperature, you need to have a hot water temperature of 120 dgrs, in the tub, on the first fill of the cycle.

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine, after you do these checks , repairs.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
