Bought new seals for my leaking dishwasher, but having problems. After my initial install it was leaking badly.

1 - I looked at gasket and new corner 'drip edges' and saw that the new Whirlpool replacements were a little different with an extra piece the originals did not have. The extra pieces on the end snapped onto the bottom tub gasket (which I did not replace)

2 - This extra piece covered part of the trim on the bottom of the tub. and wouldn't let the door seal lay right. I CUT OFF the 'extra' material so they were my original pieces. Leaks are much much less.

3 - Now there is like a 1/4" gap on each side of the bottom tub gasket and I have 2 small leaks. What parts should I buy to fix this ? Would the NEW unaltered drip edges fit the new bottom tub gasket ? Should I just put some silicone in there ?
