Lost oven display. Then lost all oven control.
Checked thermal fuse. Circuit is closed.
Checked temp sensor resistance at control panel. Came out at ~850 ohms instead of 1080 ohms.
Was told that temp sensor would not effect controller/display.
What else can I check? The thermal shutoff?
I will go home and slowly cycle the breaker, but I've already cycled it for 10 minutes or so. Haven't tried cycle times like a second or so.
Hoping to isolate problem but can't find a step by step method. I also don't want to pull the oven out of the wall.

I went home and cycled the breaker a few times. One second off, one second on. No luck.
In fact, it appears that the keypad no longer responds. The only function my oven appears to do is to turn on the interior oven light when I open the door.
Baffled. Not interested in a $500+ repair. That's a significant portion of the price of a new oven!
To get to the thermal shutoff, do I need to remove the oven from the wall? I can't tell from the exploded view drawing where that part is located. Is it behind the rear wall of the upper oven? Hmmm.

Was told that temp sensor would not effect controller/display.[/COLOR] Yes, it should not effect the control board itself. When you checked it did you disconnect it from the control board? If not you are reading the control board along with the sensor. [COLOR="DarkRed"]What else can I check? The thermal shutoff?[/COLOR] The thermal shutoff should only effect the heating elements. [COLOR="DarkRed"]I also don't want to pull the oven out of the wall.[/COLOR] See the manual, I do not think you have to pull in now. Since the interior lights work you know that you are getting the correct voltage to the power transformer/control board as they use the same side of the line (L1 to Neutral). Your unit may have a external power transformer for the control board as in Page 7-4. I would recheck the thermal fuse, disconnect one side of it when checking. Then disconnect the transformer and check the primary and secondary windings for continuity. Also check them to each other and the transformers case to see if perhaps it has shorted internally. |

Thanks. I was impressed with the thoroughness of your response.
I checked the temp sensor while connected as the manual indicated the reading I should get by indicating the connector locations (i.e. P23-4 (V) to P23-6 (GN)). I also disconnected the thermal fuse althogether. Got a reading like 1 ohm or something.
I will do the steps you mentioned. I will try to follow up once I've resolved the issue.
