Can anyone tell me the what the difference is between part # ap3179651-motor assy and ap4434021 motor pump for this Kenmore Elite dishwasher? Which part would be more likely to make a grinding noise?

According to the parts description one is just the motor and the other is the motor plus impeller etc.
According to the pictures of the parts they are the same.
Best to call the parts people at AppliancePartsPros to find out which is correct.
PS: I would always go with the pump assembly with the impeller included, a lot less hassle with the installation. |

I purchased the motor assy and got it installed. Very easy to do. I found the bearing on the impellar shaft side rusted out due to a design flaw. The motors in these units seem to only last about 18-20 months before they start to make noise. All is well now. Thanks for your help.
