Dishwasher does not drain in anymode (pots/pans, normal, xxxx). Opened up the dishwasher door when it was discharging (draining). Closed door and it never restarted. Tried other modes with the same results. jpjsel

My guess would be the interlock switch (part#AP3124207) isn't working. It is located behind the control panel. Your model number is KUDJ230YWH0 and you can look at the part breakdown on the find parts tab. Nat

Ok, that sounds like part of the motor may be out. With the type of pump and motor that you have in your model that would be a definate repair for me, one of the best set ups they have. The newer ones don't clean as well to me anyway. Nat

To replace the motor, I would need to remove the mounting screws from thee bottom that hold the motor and it looks like a shaft mounting bolt that hold something ??? from the top. Will I need any special tools for removal? Or should I call a repair person. Jpjsel

The motor changes direction to drain the water from the dishwasher. That's why it works pumping water to clean. So would it be better to replace the whole unit part number AP3776339 which includes the pump, motor and tub gasket? Please advise jpjsel

That's probably the best don't have to mess with the seals and stuff too much. Not to mention it's a lot easier and not that much more. Nat

There is an adapter that you also must have part #8271507
Have you done any plumbing work or installed a new garbage disposal by chance? Nat

part 9740684 does not snap and stay on the pump - when I opened the shipping box it was not attached to the pump. Running the dishwasher part 9740684 dislodges with the bottom spray wand.
Also do I need the wiring harness - is it wired different than the original? Can you supply a wring schematic for my model?
