Dryer quit working, so I installed a new timer, but it still doesn't work. I checked all electrical connections, and have correct voltage coming into the unit. What else could it be????

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram
Replacement parts for MAYTAG PYE2300AYW DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com

Could be the thermal fuse (Item 5 in Section 5) is blown.
Unplug the unit and one side of the fuse. Check it with a meter, should be 0 ohms.
If it is blown then there are other things that have to be checked before replacing it!!!

Could also be the door switch.

It is most likely the thermal fuse. The part # is LA1053. Let me tell you where it is. You have to unplug the dryer, and pop up the top of the dryer, and rest it on the back wall. Then in the back , up top, in the middle, you will see the heating element. If you look on the right side of the element housing, you will see 2 white wires. follow them down, and there will be the thermal fuse. The best way to get it out is to, take the 1/4 inch screw that holds the thermostat in place the is sitting on top of the heater assembly. Then take the 1/4 screw that holds the element in place, and then remove the element. Then get a screw driver, and pop off the bracket, that holds the thermal fuse in place. Ok, once you get it all back together, and by the way, the thermostat in the kit, is the high limit thermostat. Make sure you replace it, and, the kit comes with 2 thermal fuses. You need to use the one with the blue dot. Ok, once that is the done, the manuals don't tell you why this happened, So, we need to take the front off the dryer. Inside the front, up top, about 6 inches down on the left, and right side is a 1/4 inch screw, remove them, and then lift up, and the front will come off. If you move the front, like opening a door, you won't even have to take the door switch wires off. Look down on the bottom of the front and clean all the lint out of the vent tube. Stick your arm all the way up, and get all the lint out you can. Then, once that is done, put it all back together. Here is how I want you to check if the outside vent is clogged too. Plug the dryer in, and keep the top up. Hit the Timer button, to dry, and the heater will come on. If that heater gets so bright, and cuts off in thirty seconds, the vent is clogged. I usually shut the light off in the room, cause you can see it real good then. Let me know how it goes.
