I have checked the blower wheel and it runs fine. I ran the dryer disconnected from the exhaust duct and the airflow is great. It's still lighting on start up and as soon as the igniter is powered down I lose flame. Thank you for helping me.

Bad high limit thermostat (opens too soon) 2. Restricted air flow. Make sure there is nothing stuck inside the outlet duct (#1 on the diagram) 3. The flame inside the burner goes up into the hi limit thermostat instead of going straight forward. I do not see anything else what can cause it. Gene. P.S. How did you check the flame? I hope the dryer was completely assembled at that time and the door was closed?

Where can I find the coils that need to be replaced?? I ordered the manual but it is so outdated and doesn't specify where the coils are. Please help. Originally Posted by: Gene Check the thermal fuse first.

Hi there. Can any technician willing to give me a start on where to start troubleshooting?
I bought my Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer exactly 1.5 years ago. House finally ready to move in. Appliances are all hooked up and tested prior to washing and drying.
Heard the gas/ignitor come on and vent duct was hot to make sure its really working correctly.
Loaded my first load of damp clothing, set for normal (40 minutes). 20 minutes later to check on the dryer, the timing went to 140 minutes and the vent duct are cold. Open the door and the dryer is cold too, but the drum was spinning prior to canceling.
Gas valve is definitely on. Where do i start looking? I dont hear the roaring gas sound, i dont hear the ignitor "clicking", dont hear anything like the "water heater firing up" sound.
Model is Whirlpool Duet, GAS, WGD9400VE1

i have a fridgidare gas drier which I just hooked up (Given to me by a relative who moved and had no room) seems to run ok ignitor turns bright orange for about 10 seconds and then goes out and in a minute or less it tries to light again. I've cleaned everything inside the cabinet replaced coils which arived today from AppliancePartsPros. Tested the old coils and the readings weren't what they should be but were +- 150 ohms didn't check the new ones yet but I suppose its likely something else. what should I check next?

Sorry for the delay. Most likely the problem is a bad thermal fuse (#49 on the diagram). - The thermal fuse Part number: AP3132867
