First time poster, long time lurker. Let me start by saying thank you for your services on these forums, it has helped me tremendously over the last couple of years!

Now for the problem. I have a GE range with conventional burners and analog t-stat with no clock/digital display. Pretty plane-jane. The stove works fine, all burners, bake/broil, and pre-heat, however the problem I have is minor and annoying at worst.

When turning on either of the 2 left burners, my 'oven cycle' light lights up, fairly dim though. The far left (back left burner) switch will only activate the light when it's set to 3 or higher. The second from the left (front left burner) activates the oven cycle light at all settings. The oven cycle light also activates with bake/broil as intended and is fairly brighter during this mode.

I have tried replacing 3 switches including one on the right (front right burner) because this one also turned on the light, but once replaced, stopped doing so. However, the other 2, that have been replaced, continue to turn the light on.

There are no wires touching, and I have separated the the wires to make sure it wasn't stray voltage. My problem still remains. Any suggestions?

Figured out what the problem was. Both of the left burners had ground out allowing for voltage to pass through the neutral wire feeding the oven cycle indicator light.

Consider this problem fixed.
