Hi, Gene and APP...
 I have a Whirlpool GU2700XTSB1.....I ran the diagnostics.....motor/pump seems to be frozen. I took the chopper assemply off, opened the door and put screwdriver in door latch to make door switch connection, and reran diagnostics.....again, confirmed that the impeller which drives the chopper does not activate at anytime through the complete diagnostics cycle. Everything else seems to operate, including the drain pump.
When I attempt to turn the impeller end, I can bearly turn it. I have to believe that the motor bearings must be shot and hence need to replace the pump. Would you agree that I need to install a new motor/pump, or at worst, a motor/pump complete assembly?
Many thanks for your reply.

Denman,
One more question.....prior to this problem, the unit was experiencing a higher noise level that sounded like grinding during operation....from this, would you expect that the bearings in the motor pump are shot? This would likely be the reason why the impeller (which drives the chopper unit) will not turn easily, yes?
Thank you.

Definitely a possibility. |
