Wash does not work at all on any cycle modes. Model: Whirlpool Roper; Part No. 3956970; 5 years old. Water fills up the washer, even I chose Small on Water Level and it won’t stop. So it will over flow. I manually stopped the washer then turned the knob to Rinse. It will drain the water out. I tried all different cycle modes, but got the same results. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Here the gig!!! If the water shuts off, when you hit the timer knob to off, you need a water level switch. If you have to shut the water off, behind the washer, you need a water valve. But before you order anything, flip back the control panel, and make sure the clear plastic hose did not fasll off the water level switch.
