I have a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator Model # ED5GHEXNQ00 that has ice and water dispensed through the door. It has stopped dispensing ice. The ice maker is working fine and nothing is frozen that would keep the motor from running. There was nothing that happened that let me think there was a problem, it just stopped working. I’d like to know if there is a way to determine where the problem might be? I’ve looked at the parts diagram and can’t tell what should turn the motor on when the ice dispenser lever is pushed. Thanks!

This is an update on my problem. After taking the front plate off I was able to see that there are two micro switches, one for ice and one for water, that ride on two plastic pins that are a part of a bracket. The two pins for the ice micro switch are broken off. I was able to order the bracket and a new micro switch (just in case) from AppliancePartsPro.com. I’m sure they will fix my problem.
