Unfortunately I cannot read the model number any longer, as this oven was installed in 1968 or 69. Neither element works, the bake element stopped working about a year-and-a-half ago and clearly needs to be replaced (no continuity). I have made do with the broiler element since then but it suddenly stopped working yesterday as well. It does show continuity however. I do not have a voltage meter, but I do have a voltage detector and there is definitely voltage at both wires to the element.

How can I determine if I need a new selector switch, or thermostat, or if there is a problem with the circuit. If I need a new control (either thermostat or slector) how do I determine what I need without a model number?

I was able to find the part number for a new bake element (RP528 which is now CH528). I would prefer to fix this oven than to buy a new one, as I have a long-term plan to remodel my kitchen at which time I would like to upgrade to a range/oven combo.

Incidentally, the wiring diagram seems to indicate that the model number is HE-14H-1 but I have not been able to find any information online to corroborate this.

Thank you!!!

I still don't have model number for the oven, but I did buy a volt meter and one leg going to the broiler element is only getting ~40 so I imagine that is my problem. It appears that all other legs are getting ~120 which seems right. Now I need to find a replacemnt selector switch as that doesn't appear to be serviceable. On the switch itself it says "HART" and "OAK 249" made in the USA, but a parts search doesn't turn anything up. I am still waiting for a reply to my initial post, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I seem to have plenty of juice going to and from the thermostat, just that one leg from the selector that seems bad.

Thank you!!!

Here is info from the selector switch,
On the back: HART OAK249
On the bottom: 7427 (or maybe 7127)
24334om f (or possibly 24884om f) (or maybe qm f)

It would be great if someone could help out on this!

The Disney post is just some spammer.

I do not know what to tell you.

Without a number that can be referenced or cross-referenced I doubt if anyone will be able to help you.

I did try the numbers you gave and also came up with a blank.

You could try looking at some of the switches many of them will give what model they go on and then you could look at that model to see if it physically matches your unit.

If you find it then I would run out and buy a lottery ticket because it is you very, very lucky day.

Even if you do find the model number it is unlikely that the switch will still be available. Often these are only used on a few specific units so they go obsolete quickly.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but did not want you to think you were being ignored.

You could try doing a Google for "antique stoves ovens" perhaps something will pop up.

Thanks for the reply! Maybe there is a switch that would fit? The switch I have is 1 5/16" wide x 1 9/16" high x 1" thick (front to back). There are two wires coming in to the top N & L1 (left and right respectively when viewed from the back), Numbered lines going out are #3 lower left, #2 bottom, #1 lower right, #4 low, middle back. (two lines come out of #3). The switch clips in with two little tabs on either side at the front of the switch, snapping into a metal bracket.

On the back near the top is stamped
MADE IN USA
HART
OAK-249

On the bottom is printed:

Bottom 7127
243340M (this is REALLY hard to read, the 4's could be A's (or possibly 1's), the threes could be 8's, the O could be a Q or 0).

Anyway, I guess I am just out of luck. Unfortunately many of the switches that are available don't have any description or image so I have no idea if they are the same or not.

Again, if there is someone out there who has a book with images of available switches and one seems to match the above description, please let me know!
