This is s Whirlpool mini-duet.
It is taking multiple cycles to dry clothes and the drum seems to be running slower than normal (I think).
I took off the exhaust tube and ran the unit, but, while the air was hot and humid, not much air seems to be coming out.
There is no unusual odor coming from the unit (electrical, belt or otherwise).

Sounds like you have an obstruction in your air duct. Look down in the lint trap area and in the blower fan you will probably find a bunch of lint and a smaller artical of clothing (like a sock, underwear, etc.)

Thanks, Nat. I checked the lint trap & ductwork and found it to be very clean (no globs of lint or clothing).
I then pulled off the back cover to the dryer and found the blower motor was very hot. Seeing there was an access cover to the blower motor, I pulled it off and fastened the rear cover again, then fired-up the unit.
The blower motor was not turning at all. I was able to spin it (it spun freely), so I know the problem isn't a frozen bearing.
What else would cause the blower motor to be hot but not spin?

Try to pull the fan blade itself off the shaft. If you can get it off, inspect the back of the fan blade and the shaft it sets on. If the blade comes off easliy that might be your problem. A lot of times it actually has to be cut off.

Before I tore into the motor/fan blade assembly, I tried something...I turned the shaft with my fingers (it turns very freely) and it worked! BUT, the only way I can get the motor to turn is to start it my hand...It does work everytime IF I turn it by hand.
I know I'm narrowing it down (I got it to work just fine when I turn the shaft), but I still don't know what's causing the blower motor not to start when it should.
Thoughts?

Do a continuity check on the capacitor or just purchase a new one. If it will start after you turn the shaft that probably the capacitor part number AP3777445

I'm having the same problem mentioned above on the same exact model. Except when i turn the motor by hand, it does not take off by itself. I previously had the original motor replaced because it obviously burned out. But after purchasing a new motor with a new capacitor included, i'm having the same problem.
I've checked the voltage going in and out of every connection on the motor, heating coils, and the timer. All show about 126.
Would the copper "feelers" on top of the drum cause a problem? I only ask because i tested for power between the two and got nothing....
