I have a Frigidaire dishwasher (model number FDB935RHB0). The latch broke (no longer locks). I ordered a new part - the part that I received does not look like the original latch nor does it connect to the electrical connections. I ordered the part again and the same latch came. I am unable to connect the latch to the current connections. Is there an alternative fix or a work-around?

There are two switches in the latch. Every switch has two terminals. There are four separate wires with push on terminals each. What is your problem to connect them?

Okay, I had to wait for my husband to show me the exact problem...

Their are two problems:

1. The back two connections (the electrical connections closest to the door) in the new part are set lower than the connections in the new piece so the handle does not sit properly against the door. The old handle - the connections sit much higher in the handle.

2. The plastic piece on the back of the handle that locks into the door is larger on the new handle than the old handle so it won't fit into the door.

I'm fairly certain that it's the wrong part entirely. Can I send my old handle in and have someone there find the correct part?

I took pictures of the two parts. I tried attaching the pix - hopefully they come through.

The part number you posted is the correct part number.

I've replaced a few dozens of such door latches and never had any problems. Your pictures are not here.

Okay - I had to take new pictures that were smaller. I am trying *again*.

First two pix are the new part - Last three pix are the original part.

Trying to post the pictures again...

I'm getting the error "Upload of file failed."

The part I need and the part I have are not matching up. The new part will not connect to the door. Can I send in the original handle and hopefully we can find a match from there?

aquinn,

According to your model number the part is correct. It possible the manufacture has made changes to the part or it is mispacked. What you can do is call our toll free number 1-877-477-7278 with all the numbers off the old and new part along with the complete model and serial number off the dishwasher to see if it is a mispack.
