I have a Bosch dishwasher, model: SHE45M06UC/48. The water is not being heated, and a technician diagnosed the problem as a faulty heater assembly (voltage to heater present, but no current draw). Given the quoted repair price (> $500), I have decided to replace the assembly myself.
I have two questions: 1) is the above posted file, SHU_Service_Heater.pdf, the right file for this unit, or do I need a different document?
2) I'd like to confirm the diagnosis vs. the exhibited behavior: The unit runs a full cycle, but the water is not heated (tap water temp). Before the unit failed, there was a quiet period during the early part of the cycle while the water was being heated. Now there is no quiet period - the unit starts spraying water right after filling. Is this consistent with a faulty heater assembly or is there something else that might be wrong?
Thanks much!
