A few nights ago my wife left the fridge open we didn't discover this until the next afternoon. Ever since then the fridge will not cool past 42F. The compressor seems to be running fine and the Freezer is at 0F. So I figured it is working. What can I even attempt to do to remedy my problem?

What happens when the door is left opened for extended periods of time is ice will build up in the freezer and block airflow. Remove the back out of the freezer and melt all the ice and it should go back to work. There is no need to replace parts if the door was left opened simply melt the ice. Refrigerator repair guide
