1. The vent line was checked and it was clear. So we can rule out the "outside" vent line as the problem.

2. The dryer shuts down completely (heat and entire unit) and will not restart again for up to an hour or so. But, sometimes restarts immediately.

3. The dryer will run sometimes for up to 1.5 hours before it shuts down........and the clothes still aren't dry.......the dryer is not drying the clothes but is shutting off anyway and not being able to restart after maybe an hour and a half.

4. Took the vent line loose from the back of the dryer and put my hand back in the dryers internal vent line and it was full of lint........problem still exists. It seems lint builds up "in the dryer's vent system" for some reason.

I'm not sure the lint fixed the heating problem.........hope so but I'm just not sure yet.

How does one go about checking such a motor? I can do that if it's not too difficult.

More importantly, how can I make sure the motor is bad?
