Icemaker on my GE Profile PFSS6PKWBSS has stopped making ice. I tried hard to find a solution with no luck. GE wasnt able to help me either when I called them. This is what I know...

My model Refigerator is a French Door, it has a freezer on the bottom. So the ice maker is located in an compartment inside the refigerator, not the freezer. After pulling out the box that holds the cubes I can see a label underneath the ice maker. Its a Samsung Model: IMC701.

I came home from a two week vacation and noticed that I wasnt able to get any ice. I spoke to my friend who stayed at the house during that time, and he did say that lots of ice cubes kind of molded together near the opening at the door where the ice comes out.

Several times I have also caught the opening near the door where the ice comes out, just opening and closing on its own as if I had a cup pressed against it. It does stop eventually. The water dispenser works perfectly fine.

At this point I really dont know what to do. Not sure if this is something I can fix, but I would like to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it make ice, and not dispense it, or does it just plain NOT make ice?

Sorry I missed your previous post. It sounds like you need to replace the icemaker. Are you able to do a quick voltage check to confirm?

Not sure how to do that. My father might be able to help me. Not overly handy.

Does your icemaker have an on/off switch and a LED light on the right side, up front?

GE asked me the same thing. I couldnt see any green light. I did notice a little button on the right hand side. It appears the button is clear, and a light could have been shinging through it if it were operational. I pressed this button many times, and nothing ever happened. I am guessing I have to replace this thing :*(
