My Jenn-Air side by side ref. is not making ice. As per the owners manual I tried turning down the thermostat-no results. The water dispenser works fine so I am assuming the water pump on the lower back of the unit is working. The bar that tells the icemaker that it is full will move to the off position but only will retract to about a 45' angle (should this move all the way back to be lined up with the ice container?) I have looked at the ice maker unit and the mechanical box on the end seems to be sealed. Can I get into this to replace a switch seloinoid etc. Should I replace the entire Ice maker unit? Looking for help. Thanks bchance1

Gene: Thanks for your assistance. The bar in the down or on position is sitting at about a 45' angle to the ice bin. When I move it to the up position it moves smoothly and then clicks into the top or off position???? Any Ideas. . .. Thanks

Remove the ice maker head cover and check for 120VAC between "N" & "L" test points. Make sure the test probes are 1/2" in.
If there is 120VAC then using an insulated piece of wire (14 GA), short points "T" & "H" to run the motor. Leave the jumper in for a half of a revolution and remove it. The water valve should be energized in the last half of the revolution.
Post the results. Gene.

What if you don't have 120VAC between n and l? Originally Posted by: Gene Remove the ice maker head cover and check for 120VAC between "N" & "L" test points. Make sure the test probes are 1/2" in.

Remove the ice maker wire harness and check the red wire for continuity.

I was mistaken. When testing I didn't tape the light switch shut. I do get 120VAC, but no tests I try do anyhing. I can't start motor(n and m) and can't start the harvest cycle(t and h).
