The dryer is at times not heating at all and when it does heat it turns off the heat after about 5 minutes. I removed the front panel to view the igniter. Sometimes it will get red hot, light the gas and the dryer will heat but it appears that if you open the dryer and restart it the igniter fails to heat up again, thus no heat.
One other point is that after about five minutes the heat just shuts off. Does the igniter need to stay on for heat to continue? I wouldn't think so but I am totally inexperienced with how dryers work.
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance!

You don't even have to shut the gas off to do it. Cheap, and easy repair. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts

Thanks Tom! Ordered the parts. Strange how they price these:
Secondary coil AP3041625 $22.93 Main coil AP3041626 $25.46 Both AP3094251 $14.16
Go figure:confused:

Hey Bro, really appreciate your help. Got the parts and put them in today and all is working fine. Putting the door back on was the hardest part. Thanks again!:D
