I need to know how to test the regulator on my stove. How do I know if it is bad?

What symptom(s) lead you to suspect a bad regulator? They rarely go bad.

What I would check first is the condition of the burner diffusers. You can clean them with a straw bristle from a broom, or a tooth pick. Also check for kinked gas lines, where they're accessible. Has anyone ever tried to lift the stove cook top without disconnecting the burners?
