So today I was kneeling on our cooktop (not a good idea by the way) & it cracked. I have looked for a new cooktop online, but nothing matches the model number I have. I just got it YESTERDAY- so I know it's new... can anyone help?

Hi,

Ouch, I must give you credit though for saying you did it yourself.
I know a lot of people that would say it just cracked the first time they used it.

Then they would expect it to get repaired under warranty being its new.

Your going to be shocked when you see the price on that piece of glass.

GE 30" Free-Standing Electric Range - Model JB640MNBS

Do you think it would be hard for me to replace the cooktop myself? I looked online and I think the part I need is $322 ...

You can replace the part yourself, just make sure you don't get in a bind as it will break again. I would recommend having a tech do it in case something were to break, then they have to replace what they broke! Had to do that once on a glasstop range!!
