Hi Barry,

Most likely one or more ignition switches (located under knobs) got shorted due to the wet condition.

Pull out all knobs and carefully dry them, using a hair dryer.

If it would not help then the switch harness has to be replaced.

- The part number for the switch harness is AP3777963

My front left burner on my five burner stovetop continues to spark despite already igniting the burner. It appears to be igniting at all five burners. When i turn the control off it stops but, consequently i cannot use the front left burner.

Is this a problem with the controller, ceramic in the ingnitor post on the burner or the ignitor and how to do trouble shoot this?

mwald,

You can use the instructions addressed to RedBaron from the first page of this thread. Also we need the complete model number of the stove.

Igniters continued to click after burned lit on new KitchenAid stove top install. After reading thought it might be a polarity issue. Ran extension cord from another outlet to the plug feeding the stove top. Clicking stopped. Pulled newly installed plug in wall underneath stove top and found that contractor had wired the plug incorrectly. Reversed wires on plug and problem resolved.
