I replaced a failed dryer motor with #279727 motor that came from a model with a belt failure switch, with the Model 70 didn't have. I followed the changes as prescribed when upgrading to the new terminal/oveload switch layout on the newer motor. When I plugged it in and attempted to start it, the buzzer came on and wouldn't stop until I opened the door switch. The motor never operated. I rechecked the wiring harness terminal locations and they appeared correct.

The terminal layout was as follows. From the original harness .... Blue to open terminal on the left side of overload switch. Red to terminal 2, white to terminal 6, Black to terminal 5 and Red to terminal 1.

I don't have a schematic for the switch/overload on the newer motor so I'm don't know where the problem could be.

I figured out my problem ... I had the Black and White leads reversed. When I modified the terminals from 1/4 to 1/8" I plugged them in opposite of what they should have been. So much for reading directions correctly. UserPostedImage

The replacement motor is working fine!
