I was given a dryer. The lady that had it said he dryed fine, however when we got it here it won't heat up and the timer isn't working. We had to change the recepticle on the wall as this dryer had a different type of plug then my last one. We measured between the two hots and got 240 v. What else can we try,

Take off the back and check the fuses and heating element for continuity. You can see a diagram of these parts by clicking on your model number.

Be sure and clean it out thorough, including the lint chute.

my model is TEDX640PQ1 and I don't see that one on the list. I have someone that can check things for me If I can find instructions on trouble shooting. Anyone have any idea when this model was made, how old it might be?
