I replaced my washer motor part# 2-1664-12 mod# S67PXHEH-6642 with a motor that was told to me would work part#6 2307690 mod#S67PXKGC7722. I am trying to check the motor switch and my new motor does not seem to have a centrifigul switch like my old motor, nor does it look like it has a location for the motor switch. I have ordered a motor switch that will work on my old motor. When testing the old motor switch it tests bad. Hopefully this will get the washer to spin for more than 10 seconds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I obtained a new motor switch and installed it on the "old motor". I then started the spin cycle "without the drive belt on" the machine pumped for about 1 minute before I powered the unit down. I then attached the drive belt and tried a full wash cycle. The machine filled but when the motor was activated the motor hummed with no movement, after about a 30 seconds a blue arc happened and then there was no sound from the motor. I did not smell electrical. I went to bed dejected and mad at myself. The next morning, just on the off chance the machine repaired itself or I had a bad dream, I tried the machine the machine immediately went into aggitation and after 10 seconds billowed smoke quite thick and white I shut the machine off, went to work, and tried to think of an excuse to tell my wife when she smells what I have done. I now believe that the motor switch was part of the problem. (I have changed all of the smoke detector batteries in the basement and do not suggest to test them in this mannor.)
There does not appear to be any black or charing around the connections.
I have tried the spin cycle without the drive belt and the water has pumped out. The drum seams to be a little tight or stiff to move
1. What could possibly be the origination of the big smoke?
2. Is the belt slipping? The smoke billowed so fast and thick I could not tell where it came from and the machine was still aggitating.
