Food in the refrigerator side is freezing. samsung rs2555sl/xaa. I opened the rear panel inside the refrigerator. the evaporator is covered with ice. I dried all that with the help of a dryer. With the help of multimeter i checke dthe resistance in the thermalfuse, heater and thermistor. Somehow in my mutimeter i couldn't make the needle to go to zero when i short it. but it's going till 1kohm. when i checked the resistance in the thermal fuse and heater the resistance is showing as 1kohm. in the thermistor it's showing as 2.5kohm. what do i do now. Can anybody help me with this.

Thank you

Was the "ice" you saw on the evaporator snowy and relatively loose, or was it solid and clear in spots?
Was the evaporator fan running? Does the condenser fan run?

The "ice" on the evaporator was snowy and relatively loose. I tested the evaporator fan with multimeter and the readings were 2.5kohms for two points and 3.5kohms for the other one. the fan was rotating freely. I checked the readings for the fuse, thermostat and heater again today.
The readings were thermistor = 6kohms, fuse = 0 and heater was also 0.
Regarding the condenser fan i can hear refrigerator making sound. So iam thinking condenser is working. If you want me to check that also with multimeter i can check it.

Thanks for ur help.

If you got zero ohms on the defrost heater, replace it.

The hardest part of the job is finding the correct part. The replacement is tricky, only because of the relatively small space (I'm a large[OK, FAT] man), and the cooling fins on the evaporator can rip your hands to shreds.
Other than that, it's plug and play.
