What is the best way to get to the belt for removal and replacement?
Thank you, Russ H.
Russham,
Access to all the internal components( motor, belt, rollers, etc.
Should be through the front of the machine.
Remove power to the unit, unplug the power cord, turn off breaker.
On the front panel down near the floor, you'll have a phillips head screw in each corner, remove those screws.
Pull out on the bottom of the panel until it un clips itself from the top.
Label and disconnect the wires to the door switch, and set front panel aside.
Remove the 5/16" screws (4 screws) holding the front bulkhead to the cabinet, remove switch harness from clip on bulkhead,
Lift up(slightly) and out on the bulhead assembly, and remove, once alignment tabs are free from cabinet.(the drum will drop and set on blower housing).
Take note of belt routing for re installation, and pull tub out approximately 3/4 to 1 inch, and tub should slide off rear drum rollers, you can remove drum, once you release the belt from the pulleys.
You'll have an empty cabinet, and access to all moving parts that may make noise,
On the front bulkhead, on the inside, you will find 2 slides/glides located at the 5 and 7 o'clock positions, you need to check the condition of the slides, clean, no damage, and secured to the bulkhead.
Good Luck,
:) :) :)
