I have a Fridgidaire Dryer that does not heat up and the timer knob does not turn on when on timed dry.
What are teh trouble shooting procedures for diagnosing this problem.
ie ignitor, sensor, timer, thermostat?
thanks

Sounds like your aren't getting power to the timer. Look behind your control panel there should be a tech sheet there. Nat

Correction it was n't on the timed dry side of the timer it was the more dry less dry that was'nt moving i tried it on the timed dry side and burner lit and ran ok.
Can one side of the timer go bad?

That makes a difference. I would suspect the sensor then. which is a discontinued part from most distributors although one of our suppliers has a substitute. Which would be part #AP2142636 here. or your could just use timed cycle. Nat

Well today my wife said it did the same thing on the timed dry side of the timer and the timer didn't turn. Does this point to the timer?
How do I check the timer to see if it is bad?
I was also reading about gas valve coils goign bad
any thoughts?

I am not getting any voltage at teh connector that goes into the gas valve.

this is the latest after having sometime to watch it run.
burner will light occasionaly Timer seems to be moving on timed dry at least I have seen the ignitor light up but not light the burner after it has run for about 10 minutes
I didn't have any voltage at teh connector goign to the gas valve (dryer plugged in but not on(didn't see how you could check voltage when it was all put together and running is this correct?))
Voltage at the red terminal on timer and terminal going to the door switch ran without vent hose hooke dup and no difference
So what now ?

Does your timer advance when on timed cycle without turning on the dryer?
