The washer will fill with water then agitate. Will get stuck here until I move it. I have some trouble getting it to rinse but can get it to spin and drain by moving it to the spin cycle. I thought this looks like the issue should be the Timer but I have the added problem that the clothes are covered with yellow/brown flakes. Could this be mold from some where in the washer? Could I have two different problems? Thanks for any help.

I guess the washer is almost 10 years old not 5 like I first thought. Could the yellow/brown flakes left on the clothes be do to not leaving it in the Rinse cycle long enough? Since I have to move the timer by hand I'm not sure how long it need to rinse. The Timer is about $150 and would order it and replace if I was sure that was the only problem I have. Thanks for any help.

Are the brown "spots" on your clothes removable, or more like stains? If you have to physically move your timer to the next section, you should replace it.

The brown stuff is flakes and can be wiped off the clothes to some degree. My wife thinks that it maybe some mold or soap scum that might have came out of the section where the fabric softener goes. It must have came out during the spin cycle. Since the washer is almost 11 years old I might end up just replacing it. I'm not sure it is worth the $150 when she paid $400 for it new. Thanks

Try running a load in the hottest water you can provide, using Washer Magic. (No clothes...just the washer magic
