I have a Neptune washer- model #MAH5500BWW. Console touch pad lights, but I cannot change any of the settings or turn the machine on/off. I tried doing the diagnostics test but the machine does not respond when I try to go into the service mode. I unplugged to try to reset, no change. I replaced the control panel as well, but no change. Any ideas? Serial number is A9700679EJ, I think from 2002. Thanks!

No error codes at all. I've checked and worked all the buttons on the pad, doesn't seem like anything is stuck. They all snap like normal. But I can't take the console apart to see the insides of the keypad

yeah just by feeling the keys wont tell you. it would be a key stuck internally if you replaced the control i would still bet on the keypad, dont know of a way to test but usualy if it wont go in diagnostics good chance its the keypad locked

Most of the time when you change the control board you have to change the wax motor as well.
It might be worth while to have a tech check it out before buying anymore parts. most places will not take electrical parts back after they've been installed.

Any way for a novice like myself to check the wax motor?

I'm going to have to agree with imagor on the keypad. you might luck out and the parts place take the control board back......but I doubt it.
