The igniter lights up, the flame starts and then turns off. the igniter lights up again, and the gas does not come out. this is repeatable. I have tested for continuity, the flame sensor, igniter, the high limit thermostat and I think the cycling themostat, it had four contacts. I will check the fuse. I have also checked the coils for resistence, there are two and they are within the limits recommended. Does anyone have any ideas. I hate to by another dryer at this point in time. I appreciate any help provided.

Most likely the problem is a bad gas valve coils even if they passed the continuity test. These coils very often are affected by the heat around.

P.S. An intermittent problems with thermostats and/or fuses are impossible.

Thank you,thank you. Got the parts in one day from PartsSelect, and installed them very quickly. Drying clothes just like new. Thank you for your excellent advice.

Thank you. I got the parts from AppliancePartsPros in one day, put them in and am drying clothes just like new. Thank you for your clear diagnostic help. It was right on the money! (about $25 total)
