Hello from Maine :)
I am having a problem, the oven will not heat up.
Model number ARG7800LL
Serial number 9709208251
The "bake igniter" glows but gas does not seem to flow, so the oven won't get hotter than 180 F
The burners on top all work, and the broiler works
Please advise :)

Craig, More likely the problem is a bad (weak) igniter. You can measure the current drawn by the igniter and if the reading is 3.2 amps or less, no doubt about it. - The oven (Bake) igniter Part number: AP4041245

I tested the two bare wires coming out of it, I am not a pro with the meter but it seemed to have about 111 AC volts and zero amps, is that possible ?
A new one with ceramic wire ties was ordered :) We'll see how it goes.
Hopefully that will resolve the oven crisis LOL

My oven won't light, no smell of gas, but stove top burners and broiler work, fine. I have an Amana
Model: ARG73022LL Serial: 9901184093
If it is a bad igniter, shouldn't I still smell gas?

I have the new igniter and some ceramic wire ties :)
I pulled the old igniter out a bit, stripped the wires a bit, and installed the new igniter with the ceramic wire ties.
It seems OK.
The tricky part now is, the stove has been replaced. So I can't just hook this stove up to the gas and see if it works. I wonder if I can get a propane tank full of natural gas to test this stove out ? My parents (the homeowners) want to just sell it but we'd all feel better selling it as tested :)

Oh sorry if I worded it wrong, LOL I am a computer guy not a stove guy.
What I mean to ask is - can I get a small tank full of whatever gas this stove uses, then test the stove where it sits ?
