my washer just up and quit during wash cycle, no lights on touch panel, door locked. there is no wax motor for the door lock on this model, just a solenoid sw. checked ctrl brd for burned diode(?), found nada. how do I chk board to see if that is problem? anyone have this problem?

Did you check for 120VAC from the outlet?

yep, got 120v @ outlet and to the board, don't know where to check from there, ( cause me and electricity arent the best of freinds

Look for the tech sheets inside the control panel. The wiring diagram and the troubleshooting guide should be there. It's hard to find them on-line. Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag washer Model MAH5500BWWGene.
