how do you adjust thush bearing. is there a tool to help with the clip

i took the brakes out thinking maybe they were stuck but that didn't help. i have tried to adjust the thrush bearing three time to get in in the middle of the marks on the pulley. the clip is very difficult to get on as i said its almost like the shaft is not long enough. it the belt moves easily in spin and agitation by hand. but it still wants to agitate instead on spin. i m thinking it is in the adjustment of that bearing if i could figure ou t how to do it right. thank,s

Try sticking a piece of wood wrapped with a towel on top of the agitator with the lid pushing down on the agitator with a toolbox on top of the lid to help. This should help. Also, you can stick a screwdriver in the C clip slot to pry it down.
