My dryer stopped working in the middle of a run. All thermostat/thermal fuses and the door switch checked out ok. The timer control sounded as if it might have gone bad since it made a faint buzz when pushed in at the correct spots on the dial but would not actually start. However, with the replacement timer (53-1303) I just received there is no response at all. Is there a simple way to tell if the replacement timer also is faulty or is there something else I should check?

Thank you - I have rechecked that there are 240 volts coming in at the back of the dryer. I also rechecked the thermal fuse by the heater element as well as the other 2 down closer to the motor - all give me "0" on the ohmeter at room temperature. This time through I also checked the resistor on the timer control and it is giving me a reading pretty close to the expected 3.77K. Any other suggestions of what I might try for diagnosis or to try replacing based on likely problem would be appreciated.
