I realize replacing the motor is probably the best way to fix the issue of a squeel when the fridge is running. My Question is do I need any special tools and should any other parts be replaced along with the motor?
Also where can I find the parts I've checked online and everywhere I knew of is out of stock.
Any and all help is appreciated!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for RS2630SH models | AppliancePartsPros.comYou did not say what motor but it looks like both the condenser and evaporator fans are in stock at AppliancePartsPros. As far as I know you do not need any special tools but I have never replaced one. With luck someone who has will jump in with some info. |

Damn!!!
I would remove the fan motor from the unit. Then take it and it's fan blade to a local appliance parts supplier. If you get a good counter person they may be able to supply you with a motor that is a close match. You may have to wire it in with wire nuts, the plug will probably be different.
Another possible fix is to disassemble the motor. Mark the various parts with a felt pen so you get it back together properly Clean the bearings and then put a drop of good oil on them. Do not use WD40 it is not a good long term lubricant.
Some of these motors have a small hole in the bearing mount on the armature side of the mount. If it does also put a couple drops of oil in there.
This could last just a day or two or for years so it is worth a shot if you cannot obtain a replacement. |
