Please help....Compressor out on overload. Replaced compressor w/OEM. Part was #TPD139OYXA, now #TPB1390YXA. No high side access. Original compressor out on LRA would not start. On replacement, MFG. charge req. 5.125 oz. @134a. Charged w/6.000 oz. to reach pressure of 10psi suction. Return line freezing, evaporator freezing, no airflow through evaporator. Refrigerator @ 50+. Did I overcharge? Undercharge? Should I start all over w/charge? p.s. IceMaker over filling w/H2O into icebin when working normally. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!!! Ken & Karen

Ok, first off the suction line is freezing because you overcharged it. A 134a system lowside pressure should be 4 inch vacuum, definatly not 10psig. Next, are your fans running, condenser fan and freezer fan?

What do you mean by "no highside access"?

Hi Mr. BigFish66! Thank you so, so much for your timely response. Ironically, we were up at 2am PST debating wether to evac. the system and start over. He chose not to and I wanted him to (and call in sick to work today if necessary) and your response was waiting for me this morning. A wife's 'I told you so moment'. So, as of now, had a friend who works with hubby at the company I mentioned came over and had hubby pull all the food out of the fridge (freezer was already empty). After two beers and putting gauges on the fridge (which did not go down in temp.) he told us to wait until tomorrow and the system would be fine. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda...My son finally talked my husband into recovering & weighing the charge at 7pm. Recharged with 4.5oz 134A. Temp. is dropping rapidly. At 9pm 49 degrees from 60 at 7pm. No frost on return line as of now. Yes, fans have run the whole time, and the 'highside' referred to the area above the condenser coils in the freezer that were inaccessible. Of no consequence here. Thank you again for your attention to this matter and please know we appreciate the time you took to respond! Ken & Karen :)
