I need to check the thermo-switch that I presume is no or neer the motor and I cant get the front open . Please help

I'm answering my own question! The metal clips that are common and shown in the drawing have been replaced with plastic ones that look like they would function the same way but don't. You just have to jam a screwdriver in the edge and pry up. So that solves the mystery
