My refirgertor is freezing everything in the refrigerator. The freezer seems fine. I took the Thermostat assembly cover off and notice a small spring just laying in the back of the compartment. Does the spring go tot the damper mechanism and could the damper door be stuck open? Could this be my problem? What else should I check?
Thanks

Sounds like you are on the right track Part number: AP2060490
There is your spring in the middle of the damper door. Click on the picture and it should enlarge depending on what browser you are using. |

The dampener seemed pretty firmly in place yet I didn't see any fasteners holding it there. Can I just firmly pull it out after all the covers and screws are removed. I believe it is styrafoam where it passes between the freezer and refrigerator.
