I REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WITH A BRAND NEW ONE AND TURNED THE MACHINE ON TO TRY TO SEE IF IT WOULD START SPINNING AS THE PLASTIC PIECE (WHITE FUNNY LOOKING PIECE) ON THE OLD ASSEMBLY HAD SNAPPED SOMEHOW. SO I REPLCED THE ENTIRE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WITH A NEW ONE ON THE ADVICE GIVEN TO ME BY APPLIANCE PARTS PROS...SO NOW THat the new clutch assemly is intalled the machine is still not spinning it truns in jerks and make a loud kinda clanking noise and i dont want to keep trying to make it spin as i dont want to snap the new funny looking white piece i just put on the machine but the part of the machine where that piece attaches to is what seems to be jerking around . does any have any idea as to what the problem may be and is it something i can repair on my own? if you look at a post by boselam titled replacing the clutch on whirlpool washer you see the specific parts i keep referring to ; after close examination of these pics i notuicedthat there seems to be brake shoes there i am totally new to this and do not know the correct wording for parts i am a truck driver not a repair man but willing to learn ....PLEEEASE HELP!!!

You probably have stuck brake shoes,or something stuck in the tub. You can shine a light in the spin basket to check. Otherwise, go to my sticky above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes" for complete info on this.
