Dishwasher is just over 5 yrs old. It ran fine the night before last, yesterday the "Normal" light was blinking constantly, there is not pattern to the blinking and there are two "dashes" on the display screen. Can not get the unit to go into a diagnostic mode. Any ideas?

Measure resistance of door switch contacts while checking mechanical operation of latch assembly. Confirm switches not loose from assembly. Check resistance of all harness connections between door switches and pin 8 of the control board. If there is nothing wrong, replace the control panel. If you need the correct part number for the control panel, post the color of it. - The door switch Part number: AP3039128

Switches check out ok, all connections look good. I think the part number is 8531245 (it is black) for the control panel. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks, Chuck
11/18/10: I ended up changing out the Control Panel. Thinking one of the buttons had stuck. Changed the panel and unit went into diagnostic mode everything works like new. Thanks for the info. Chuck

Gene,
I have the same model and am having the same problem now. I tried to hit the Hi Temp scrub/Energy Saver Dry/Hi Temp Scrub/Energy Saver Dry/Cancel. A 2 appeared in the display, sounded like the pump was going for about 10-60 seconds or so (tried this a few times), then it stopped and the Normal light started blinking again. Also tried unplugging from power for several minutes. After replugging, a 1 appeared in the display, pump started, then flashing light.
Everything inside the panel looked clean/dry. I disconnected/reconnected the ribbon a few times and pressed on all connections to make sure nothing was loose.
I'm not experienced with testing switches and such, but I do have a multi-meter. Where is pin 8 on the control board?
Thanks!
