Bake unit in GE Gas Wall Oven not working. The broiller unit works so the oven is getting gas... The bake ignitor is not the easiest to get to, but I did and visible inspection shows no cracks.... Please help as it's getting cold out side and BBQ'ing everything is getting a little old!

If you're able to do electrical testing, you can confirm a bad igniter by checking for 120VAC at the igniter, while the oven is in "BAKE".

I haven't got a clue as to how to do that! I've been able to read up on how to locate and get to the ignitor to inspect it. I've read up on how to replace them! I live in area of Long Island where it's not easy or cheap to get a service person to come out. I'm sort of on my own on this one. As I replied before, there is NO glow....so I'm figuring from your reply that it could be an electrical problem or a dead ignitor.

It could either be a problem with the control board not sending the needed power to the igniter; or just a bad igniter. The igniter is the least expensive fix, but if the problem is a bad board, and you replace the igniter before the board is ordered, you will have wasted both time and money in the repair. Do you have a friend or neighbor who can do the testing for you?
