I need to replace the heating coil/burner on the front right (large) and we cannot find how to open the glass top lid to get to it.

Any help is appreciated!

Beverly,

First, are you sure the burner is bad ?

The burner switch failure is more common than a bad burner.

To raise the cooktop,

Of course turn off the power to the range, or unplug the power cord, First.

Open or remove the oven door.

You should find a 1/4 inch screw at each end of the black metal oven top flange, remove those two screws.

You can then raise the front of the cook top and remove it.

When you replace the burner, double check and make sure you match the wire terminal label for terminal label( 1a to 1a, 2a to 2a etc.) some of the terminals on new replacement parts are not in the same location as original parts.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

Beverly,

OK,

Thanks for the update, it helped.

It does sound like a damaged element, but I still hope it's a broke or loose wire.

Like I said, a bad element is not all that common,

Good Luck,
