At the end of the wash cycle there is a loud noise. I have a new coupler to put on but the old one was not really worn out. How do I take off the transmission, clutch and brake to see what to replace.

If the loud noise is at the end of a spin cycle, you have dragging brake shoes.
If you have an amprobe, you can verify by measuring the motor current during spin.May be as high as 11 amps.
To fix, refer to your model # above for take apart info. and just pull agitator, losten the spin basket nut 1/2 way out and pound on the top of nut till the spin basket breaks loose.
Now pull motor out and turn the tranny coupler clockwise untill the basket starts to spin, if now very hard to turn with one hand, you have dragging brake shoes. Now pull transmission out and pry down the brake shoes, but leave the spin tube in the washer. Now remove the spring, cam and brake shoes and replace them. You can get your shoes by clicking on your model # above.
