I have a new whirlpool 3 door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The problem is an ice build up in the freezer. Moisture is condensing on the top, and dripping on the food containers below. With in a few days I now have a sheet of ice over the food.

What is causing the moisture build up? What can I do to fix it?

I cannot find any tech info using the given model number.
It does come up at the Whirlpool site.

I would call Whirlpool to see if this is a common problem with these units.

This is a difficult one to troubleshoot.
First I would check the door seals.
Take a 2 inch strip of paper and place it between the door seal and the frame. Then pull the paper out to see if the seal is OK.
Work your way around the doors.
Sometimes the seal on the hinge side of the doors grabs and does not seal correctly. A common fix for this is a light coating of white lithium grease or vaseline.

A bad seal would explain the frost but does not explain why it is melting and dripping onto the food.

It could be that the defrost thermostat clipped to the evaporator coils is bad.
On many units this is what shuts the defrost heater off when the ice/frost has melted off the evaporator coils. If it does not open then too much heat would be in the freezer section.

Check the defrost thermostat it should be infinite ohms (open) just above freezing. Also if it is bulged out replace it.

Check in the compressor compartment to see if you can find a tech sheet.
This would tell you how to force a defrost.

Following are a couple good sites with fridge repair info.

Sorry I could not be more help.
Hopefully someone else will jump in with some information/suggestions.

Usually, when there is a moisture build up in the freezer, that means that outside air is entering the freezer, which would mean the door not being closed. Clean the ice out, of the freezer, and make sure the people in the family are closing the door of the freezer all the way. Also make sure no food is stopping the door from closing.
