Condenser fan and compressor should allways be running at the same time so if the compressor is not running and condenser fan is then you are most likely looking at a bad main board. Look on the back of the board for a burnt solder joint. If you are handy with a solder gun you may be able to repair this. Refrigerator repair guide

I just plugged it back in today and the compressor started working and the coils in the freezer are starting to frost ? Was the defrost cycle stuck on some how ? What would cause that to happen and what would need to be changed ?

If it was in fact stuck in defrost the main board is bad. Since it went back to work just keep an eye on it and see what it does.
However it wasn't in defrost if the fan was on. I think you have a main board problem. Just see what it does.

As I found the door to the freezer ajar not totaly closed..! Also The condensor coil was pretty dusty...it was never cleaned..or maybe compressor relay ? I just put it all together and it's still working ?
