I did a load of laundry last night, and when I went to put the clothes in the dryer, I found that there was a big puddle of sudsy water (maybe 2-3 gallons?) on the floor. When I looked in the washer, there was still about 2-3 inches of water in the bottom of the tub and the clothes were still soggy. The washer was at the end of the cycle. There was no moisture on the fill hoses, but there did seem to be moisture on the outside of the drain hose. I checked it for cracks or holes, but there was nothing obvious. There was also sudsy residue in the sink that the drain hose empties into, so it appears that the drain was at least partially working.
Does this sound more like a drain hose issue or a pump issue? I'm thinking of swapping the drain hose, then running the washer empty tonight while I watch carefully.

Remove the control panel screws, the retaining clips, and the lid switch connector. Tilt outer cover forward and remove.
Run a wash cycle and Support the fill spout to make sure the tub fills with water. You will need to short the lid switch connector to pump the water out.
Tell us where the water leaks.

The instructions sound a little dangerous for my situation. I would be standing in running water on the floor throughout the cycle, beginning with the fill. Could you give me likely areas of leaks - but not in the visible hoses. The leaking (likely from the top) came first, and then a month later with a load of heavy towels, the washer didn't empty or spin the water out. Now it wpn't empty for any load. Could you respond to both of these?

You most likely have something stuck in the pump, or a support spring has come loose particularly if the tub is not centered. Just remove power, take apart and check.
