I have a 12 year old Whirlpool dryer, model number LGC8858EQ2. It turns on and generates heat but it will not tumble. What could be causing this and is it worth repairing a 12 year old dryer? Thanks!

A broken belt. Yes, it is worth repairing. That dryer should go for over 20 years, with a few repairs. I would replace the belt, the 2 drum rollers, and the motor idler pully. They make a kit with all of those items in it. Thye part # is 4392065. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts
