Water drips underneath the controls which are located at the back of the top shelf of the refrigerator, water is found there and under the bottom drawers of the refrigerator as much as 12-15 oz. I took the cover off the control but did not find anything behind it except for an electronic module that I detached from the wall to see if I could see anything but nothing there either.

The freezer is at the top, I took off the door of it and the floor plate, on the back part of the floor I saw a drain hole which was widely patent, it appears to lead out to the pipe on theoutside back of the refrigerator that drains water to the tray at the bottom, all of these including the pipe was detached and checked and found open.

I cannot figure out where the water comes from, it has to be defrost water but how do I fix the problem ?

Please advise.

Thanks

Matt

Well, no one replied to my question, so I took apart most of the freezer compartment. On the back wall of the Freezer is the evaporator coil, under the coil is a metal plate that slopes from each side to a hole in the center, from where the dripping water needs to go outside into the drain pipe. Right where it connects to the drain pipe, it has rusted and leaks water down into the top shelf of the refrigerator.

Now I know where the water comes from. Two questions:

1- What is this sloping metal plate called that collects and directs dripping water to the outside pipe ?

2- Where do I get the part described above, and how do I replace it ?

Kindly advise.

Thanks

Matt

Thanks Denman, would you have installation instructions for it ? The anchoring screws seem to have been have been tucked behind the coil.

Please advise.

Thanks
